Paper Mario: The Origami King is finally here! It's time to see if this is a Nintendo Switch game worth buying. GET THE GAME: https://amzn.to/2ZJ1O6s (affiliate link) Is this Paper Mario better than Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door? It starts off with Mario & Luigi the brothers Mario, who are invited out to Princess Peaches castle and as usual when they arrive something is not quite right, everyone is missing. After some quick events that lead to them being separated and Mario being captured, Mario runs into King Olly who is an origami person declaring war on the mushroom kingdom turning all the citizens into what are called folded soldiers. He runs off with the castle itself and its up to Mario to once again save the day along side Olly’s sister Olivia who accompanies you on your journey and can be used for assistance and also uses the powers you learn along the way. This version of Paper Mario does not play like a traditional RPG, while it does have light RPG elements it places more like an 3d platformer game than anything. For fans of 1000 year door, you might be a bit upset and let down that it isn’t as robust on the level up system, and badges are also long gone for upgrading your characters systems. Paper Mario on Switch focuses more on exploration, story, and a more casual formula of gameplay than a lot of its predecessors and to be honest, I don’t think that is such a bad thing.
