Golf (NES) Review

It's time for another 8-bit tidbit.

This time it is plain old golf! With its plain old title screen!

No music no nonsense.

Infact that could be said with the overall game play. I think the most interesting thing about GOLF is the fact that you play as a kinda chunky Super Mario. there is also a 2 player mode available but good luck on getting someone else to play this with you..

The graphics for the most part are bland, except for the square on the bottom left and the map of the current hole you are playing there is nothing else.

No music to grade here. the sound effects are indeed primative.

The closest thing to music you will hear is if you hit the ball out of bounds.. which i tend to do quite often if you check out the gameplay footage.

Golf is one of the black box games for the nes, but as far as replayability, i would say there is none, unless you really enjoy golf. but even then there are plenty and i mean plenty of more enjoyable golf titles on the nes.

The control in this game depends on how well you can hit the button on the power meter below, depending on the type of club you use also depends on where you hit the ball, you aim the direction with the d-pad. the wind does play a factor in where the ball goes as well.

The simple rules of golf pertain to this game, which to be honest, other than trying to make par with the hole you are on.. i am not completely sure of. There is definitely not much else to this game.

I would recommend this one only if you insist on collecting it for your collection, if not, then you are not missing out on much.
